Chelsea managed a narrow 1-0 victory against West Brom at Stamford Bridge to go back to the top of the table in the Premier League. The Blues have looked dominant on the ball and are in advanced positions throughout the game but have found it difficult to break through a very determined West Brom defence.
Diego Costa ultimately found the winner in the second half to give Chelsea all the three points as Blues take three points in not so convincing win. Here we look at the player ratings of Chelsea as they have now won nine games in a row in the Premier League.
Courtois- 6
Had little to do but have looked solid when called into the action.
Moses- 7
Looked good going forward as he linked up well with the attack whenever possible and have also looked calm in the defensive duties.
Azpilicueta- 8
Best defender for the Blues in the game as he looked commanding and composed in the back three as Chelsea managed yet another clean sheet.
Luiz- 6
Probably the weakest link in the defence in the game as he was caught off guard on a number of occasions in the first half.
Cahill- 6
Was good as he absorbed the pressure from West Brom attack but have managed to come out as a winner in the end.
Alonso- 6
Has been very good in the defensive duties but can improve in the attack as he needs to work more on his finishing.
Kante- 7
Was at the heart of the midfield as he had put a hard shift in the middle running all around to support both attack and defence.
Matic- 6
Was good with the passing but has failed to shield the defence well as the attacks often came from the right wing of West Brom.
Pedro- 6
Not a great day for the Spaniard but has put a great effort in helping from the wings but the West Brom defence got the better off him.
Costa- 9
Has worked hard for most parts of the game but has finally found the back of the net with a clinical finish to ensure three points for the Blues.
Hazard- 7
Has tried to break the West Brom defence many times and have played a deeper role than usual to get more of the ball.
