Club scout reveals that Liverpool are keeping tabs on Olympic gold winner and top summer transfer target 1

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have been a busy side this summer with the manager adding a number of players to his squad over the course of the transfer window.

Lack of European football this season meant that the manager did not need too much depth in the squad but that did not stop Klopp from looking to add players who fit into his style ahead of the new season.

The manager was linked to a number of players but was not able to get many of his top transfer targets to the club. But it is now reported that he is not ready to give up on one such player and is still tracking him for a move next summer.

Brazilian international Luan who is currently one of the most prolific goal scorers in world football has been attracting interests from some of the top sides in Europe.

He is currently playing for Gremio in Brazil and was instrumental in his national side winning gold in the recent Olympics.

And it is now understood that he is looking at a different place to play his football to try and establish himself as one of the best in the best league in the world.

According to reports from Tribal Football, Liverpool are still keen on the Brazilian international and are scouting actively for him to add him to the squad next summer.

The report revealed that Liverpool’s South American chief scout Fernando Troiani has admitted to the club’s interest in the 23-year old.

He revealed that the club has been scouting the player since his introduction in Gremio and that they will keep close tabs on his progress till the end of the season and make a move if they are satisfied with what they see.

However, he denied reports that suggested that Liverpool made an official bid for the player this summer.

Talking to the media, Troiani said, “We do not know where this invention was created. But I can assure you this is not true.

“We know that the board of Porto Alegre’s club has nothing to do with it, and we estimate that the athlete’s manager does not either.”

It will be interesting to see if Liverpool do make a move next summer but if they do, the likes of Daniel Sturridge, Divock Origi and Danny Ings will be fighting for their place in the squad this season.

With the Brazilian contingent in the club doing wonders, Liverpool will hope that they can get their man without much fuzz if they are convinced that he is a quality addition to the squad.

Do you think Liverpool need the Brazilian striker in their squad next summer?
