Reports from Serbia and Sky Sports stating Marko Grujic’s work permit has been given the A-OK. Confirmation from both parties not too far away.
Most reliable Serbian journalist Milos Markovic has confirmed that Grujic has been given a work permit, medical this weekend & should sign the 5-year deal as early as Monday. He has also added that that Grujic has returned from Montenegro, preparing for the UK & will be in Liverpool Jan 4.
Grujic will officially sign on Monday.
Issues with his dad have resolved and he’s given him his passport and allowed him to move to Liverpool.
As his work permit is granted, he can now travel to Liverpool for a medical and complete the deal. Will go straight back on loan.
According to the most reliable Russian football journalist Artur Petrosyan, “Grujic has signed a 5-year contract with Liverpool. He will be earning around £17K per week.” He added, Marko Grujic is signed for £5m. Loaned out back to Crvena Zvezda for 6 months for £750K. Liverpool had to agree leaving Grujic in Serbia until next summer, because his dad asked it. So he’ll move to England only in July 2016.”
Red Star Belgrade say that they have accepted a bid from Liverpool for midfielder Marko Grujic. Red Star Belgrade have released this statement- “The club’s board considered the offers and unanimously accepted Liverpool’s offer to pay the money immediately.”
“Red Star sincerely want Marko Grujic to carry on playing in the club’s kit for the next 10 years but the financial situation of our club dictates the adoption of a different decision.”
Grujic might have to join straight away in January instead of being loaned back. With Henderson’s heel constantly acting up we need cover. Earlier his dad confiscated his passport and vowed to block his son’s Liverpool move. But, later Marko’s old man met with an accident and gave his son his passport and Marko Grujic got his work permit. He even confirmed on Facebook about his Liverpool move.
Wanna read Grujic’s dad’s full anti-Liverpool statement? Go on, funny read but some points are somewhat true also.
“I won’t allow them to destroy my boy!” Grujic senior told Serbian outlet Blic:
“Everyone turned their back on them, as they’ve spent all the money the club has had, and they see a solution in Marko’s transfer.
“That’s why there’s so much pressure on him.
“Ten times per day they are calling him by phone, urging him to sign a contract.
“There are (their) stories in Serbian media, like ‘Gerrard’s No.8 is waiting for him’, or ‘Klopp called him by phone’, ‘millions here, millions there’.
“And there’s also pressure in (the) Red Star dressing room, as it seems that (people from the management) convinced players, who are waiting for their salaries, that their payments depend on Marko’s transfer.
“I mean, which club is willing to pay £5.1m, and then to say ‘Look, kid, come when you want’?
“Nope, if Liverpool FC is seriously counting on him, they’ll tell him ‘Start of training camp in January on this day, at that hour, we’re expecting you’. And, what kind of combination is that?
“The club is paying for him £5.1m,
but then leave him on loan and that loan costs £730,000?
“Really, I’m starting to think I should call the police to tell them everything about this pressure.”
“His passport is with me, and I pronounce that Marko is not going anywhere.
“None of our younger (Serbian) players survived in the Premier League,” he added.
“Bojan Djordjic, Milos Veljkovic, Adem Ljajic, Zoran Tosic, Lazar Markovic, Danilo Pantic… Do you need me to continue to list them? None of them had the opportunity to prove themselves.
“The second is the story with (Branislav) Ivanovic and (Nemanja) Vidic. They came as experienced players.
“I know he has the quality to be able to play in England , but it’s not league for him now.”
