The summer transfer window is getting closer and closer and there are plenty of deals that are being confirmed by clubs all around Europe.
In what will come as a huge news for many top class European clubs, Spanish giants Real Madrid have officially triggered the buy-back clause of Spanish forward Alvaro Morata.
Morata, who scored 5 goals in the previous season on his way to his second Serie A title has played an important role at the Italian club for the past two years but the club’s chief executive Giuseppe Marotta revealed earlier today that the Los Blancos are ready to take him to the Santiago Berna Beu this summer.
Speaking to a media gathering recently, Marotta revealed that the 23-year old will be heading back to Spain this summer.
“Real Madrid have informed us of their intention to exercise the right to buy back [Morata], we are just waiting for a written offer,” he said.
“Only then will we see how to proceed, but at the moment the possibility of Morata staying are slim. He will leave Turin and return to Spain,” he added.
However, it has been reported even in the past that Madrid are not really interested in giving him another chance in Spain and are only looking to profit from his imminent sale this summer.
This has seen the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea linked with a move for the forward this summer while Liverpool and Manchester United are also said to be pondering over a move for the versatile attacker.
The 23-year old has found some form for the national team at the EUROs and has already netted twice for his side only making him a hotter prospect in the summer.
However, it remains to be seen as to which club gets their hands on the Spaniard but at the moment, Morata will return to the Bernabeu and will be a part of the squad until the Spanish team find a right suitor for him.
Giuseppe Marotta also provided an update on other rumours linking the club with various players.
He confirmed that the likes of Dani Alves from Barcelona and Miralem Pjanic will both be joining the squad in Turin next month and also revealed that the deals for Barcelona’s Javier Mascherano and Valencia star Andre Gomes will not be making the switch to Turin this summer.
He also revealed that star midfielder Paul Pogba is still an important part of the plans for the club next year and that the club has not received any official offers for the French international as yet.
“We have not received any offers [for Pogba],” he said. “He is a fundamental and indispensable player for the present and future of Juventus,” Marotta added.
