Courtois To Join Real Madrid?? This Is What Chelsea Star Has Told Friends!!

Chelsea fans are enjoying life right now after seven straight league wins has seen them sit top of the Premier League.

However, there is one downside to a good run of form – an increased interest in your players.

And that appears to be the case as far as Thibaut Courtois is concerned.

Before Christian Eriksen’s strike during their 2-1 victory over Tottenham, Courtois hadn’t conceded a league goal 601 minutes. While a lot of that is down to Antonio Conte’s switch to 3-4-3, Courtois also deserves a lot of credit for that.

The Belgian goalkeeper has two seasons left on his contract and the club must be thinking about handing the 24-year-old a massive new deal.

However, it may not be as easy as that.

According to The Sun, Real Madrid are interested in the ‘keeper and want to sign him when their transfer ban ends at the end of next season. That’s the same time Courtois’ deal expires and he has told his friends that he will consider his future at that time.

It’s hardly surprising that Madrid are keen on Courtois and they see him as a successor – and an upgrade – on current goalkeeper Keylor Navas.

The European Champions even sent Courtois a ‘get-well-soon’ message when he suffered a knee injury last season.

The goalkeeper himself has previously admitted that a return to the Spanish capital appeals to him. Chelsea signed him from Atletico and it remains to be seen if he would be willing to sign for the arch-rivals of his former club.

Earlier this month, he hinted at a return to Madrid but admitted he wanted to concentrate on helping Chelsea in their title challenge.

“Perhaps one day I can return, who knows? he said.

“But right now I’m very happy at Chelsea. I wish Atletico the best.

“I miss Madrid, I left many friends there, but I knew my future was in England.

“Since I left Atletico, I have improved my game with my feet considerably and I have matured a lot as a person.

“Right now I’ve gone five games without conceding a goal in the Premier League and I’m delighted.”

But the longer Chelsea leave it before renewing his contract, the more confident Real Madrid will grow of signing him.
