Non-league club Bromley rejected on the opportunity to recruit Cristiano Ronaldo due to uncertainty over his future at Al-Nassr. After a dramatic exit from Manchester United, the Portuguese forward arrived in Saudi Arabia in December. But it appears that he is ready to say goodbye.

According to Spanish media, Cristiano Ronaldo is desperate to leave Al-Nassr and wants to rejoin old team Real Madrid. That appears to be easier said than done, with Los Blancos president Florentino Perez unwilling to facilitate an emotional reunion with the striker at the Santiago Bernabeu in the near future.

‘Nah, you’re alright’: Non-League club mocks Cristiano Ronaldo

According to reports from Spain, Real Madrid president Perez is only willing to offer Cristiano Ronaldo an ambassadorial post with the reigning European and Spanish champions at the end of his career, which the 38-year-old is not interested in at the moment. Bromley of the National League have now had their own fun at the expense of the forward.

In response to speculations of Ronaldo’s desire to leave Al-Nassr, Vanarama, the non-league game’s sponsors, tweeted a spoof image of him wearing a Bromley shirt with the caption:

“It’s not too late if you want to play in white next season, @Cristiano,” alongside a pair of eyes emoji.

Bromley bluntly replied: “Nah, you’re alright,” as they turned down the opportunity to rope in the five-time Ballon d’Or winner to Hayes Lane. That scathing tweet is just the latest in a string of setbacks for Ronaldo in recent months. Following an explosive interview with Piers Morgan, he left Old Trafford under a cloud.

A world record £173 million per year contract enticed Cristiano Ronaldo to Saudi club Al-Nassr, where he enjoyed a good start to his post-European-exit career. The 38-year-old has scored 12 goals in 15 outings across all competitions since then. However, the EURO 2016 winner’s time in middle-east has not gone as planned.

Ronaldo has only scored once in his last four games for the Saudi Arabian club and has failed to score in six of his last nine. His goal return has decreased, which has coupled with the team’s ability to find solutions around it. According to El Nacional, the Portuguese superstar is desperate to leave Riyadh after only four months.

Al-Nassr have lost its top spot in the Saudi Pro League to Al-Ittihad, and Al-Wehda also eliminated them from the King Cup of Champions. Cristiano Ronaldo has been seen in heated disputes with his own coaching staff, while manager Rudi Garcia was fired earlier this season after a poor run of form.

Meanwhile, the five-time Champions League winner has also faced calls to be deported after making an obscene gesture as he exited the pitch during his side’s trip to Al-Hilal. While they are unlikely to sign Cristiano Ronaldo anytime soon, Bromley will be hoping to gain promotion in the final weeks of the season. On Wednesday evening, they face Woking in the National League playoffs.
