Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo and manager Zinedine Zidane are not on same lines after the manager’s decision to sub off the Portuguese international in their 2-1 win over Atheltic Bilbao on Saturday.
The Los Blancos have managed to win the game by 2-1 which helped them extend their lead at the top of the league by five points. However, after being put to lead in the 67th minute by Casmeiro, Zidane has decided to sub Ronaldo with 10 minutes to go.
However, the former Manchester United star was not happy with the decision as he looked in prime form throughout the course of the game.
“Why me? F*** off,” Cristiano Ronaldo was caught saying, as shown on Gol TV.
However, both the player and manager was seen shaking hands at the end of the game as they looked delighted with their side winning a crucial contest.
This is not the first time that Ronaldo was unhappy over his substitution by Zidane as the French tactician is not afraid to make changes that he desires. Real Madrid have taken massive three points from their away trip San Memes as it is considered as one of the hardest places to visit in Spanish league this season.
Speaking after the game, Zidane has backed his decision of substituting Ronalod towards the end as he said: “We tried to have more balance with Isco in the midfield and we changed to 4-4-2. Cristiano can be replaced just like anyone else. He finished the match very happy because of the victory we achieved”.
