Carter scored a beauty to seal the 14th FA Cup for the Gunners.
The Gunners forward said: “That goal has to be up there as one of the best of my career.
“To get the winner at Wembley is something I’ve always dreamt of. It’s amazing. I’m over the moon.”

It was the 18th-minute and Carter scored a fantastic solo goal, which was the 2nd ever to be netted in a Women’s Cup final at the Wembley stadium.
After picking up a long pass on the left wing, Carter turned the Chelsea right-back, Hannah Blundell, inside out and dribbled past her prior to curling in a beautiful finesse shot to the far post, leaving the goalkeeper Hedvig Lindahl no chance of saving that.
The Spanish coach Pedro Martinez Losa of Arsenal, said: “Wembley is red!
“I think our players deserve it for all the effort. They work hard every day and the secret is the team, they stuck together in the difficult moments.
“We had the confidence to play on this big pitch, played good football and then we won.
“We had more opportunities, especially in the first half where we could have scored more goals.
“Chelsea were better in the second half, but I think that we deserved to win.”
It was a very tight game and was watched in front of a record-breaking crowd (32,912) in the Women’s Cup final.
Carter produced threat from the start of the match, on the first-minute chance which she blasted onto the roof of the net before handing the Gunners the lead with her remarkable finish.
Asisat Oshoala was also brilliant, she squandered 3 clear chances to help the Gunners lead 2-0.
Though Chelsea’s best opportunity to score was wasted by Fran Kirby, while Ji So-yun also fired a shot off target for the West London rivals of Arsenal.
Kelly Smith, the Arsenal Ladies captain said: “The team were outstanding today, from the first minute to the last minute we really turned up.
“We wanted the cup back and we’re really pleased with how the performance went.
“This is the cup that we all want to be involved in and an occasion like this is an unreal experience and one I’ll cherish for the rest of my life.”
