According to Sport, Arsenal’s goalkeeper David Ospina handed a transfer request to the club hierarchy as the player is very unhappy with his position at the club.
Ospina has played a crucial part in Gunners’ campaign last season when No.1 Petr Cech was injured and the player has produced some great performances to keep Arsenal in the title race.
However, Wenger is keen to hold on to his No.2 with Wojciech Szczesny reportedly looking to extend his loan spell at AS Roma. If Ospina leaves Arsenal will have to rely on Emiliano Martinez as the backup for Petr Cech if Cech gets injured.
Besiktas president has admitted that the club has made an enquiry about Ospina earlier. As per ESPN FC, he said: “Arsenal want a lot for him [Ospina] so we may have to look for alternatives, I do want Ospina and we are going to get a foreign keeper.”
David Ospina was Arsenals No.1 before the arrival of experienced Petr Cech as the Colombian has produced some great performances to take over Wojciech Szczesny.
Ospina had a decent Copa America outing with Colombia and is looking to get first team football which he is lacking in the recent time.
