DEAL CLOSE – Chelsea plan a mega South-American swap deal involving the Manchester United target
Chelsea have their heart set on a transfer for Benfica’s star Nicolas Gaitan. The Blues have decided to make a bid for the Argentine winger and as per the reports, Juan Cuadrado could be the player sold to make way for Nico Gaitan.
Gaitan has also been linked with a move to Manchester United with the reports of a deal being signed by United broke all over the internet yesterday. As per the reports, United had agreed a £21.3million deal for the Benfica winger.
Despite those rumors, Chelsea remain a firm favorite to sign the Argentine winger. Gaitan’s deal will see Juan Cuadrado leave Stamford Bridge after just 5 months after his transfer.
Chelsea bought Cuadrado back in January for a whopping £23million from Fiorentina. However, the Colombian has failed to live up to his pre-signing hype and has seen himself get pushed back among the substitute bench.
Cuadrado has been unsettled in England ever since making his £23million move from Fiorentina in the winter transfer window. The Colombian is tipped to make his return to Serie A in the summer after just 5 months of action in England.
As per the reports in Italy, Inter Milan have contacted player’s agent for a possible summer move as Roberto Mancini is trying to bring Inter Milan back to the top of Italian football.
Cuadrado’s sale will prompt a swift transfer for the right-footed Argentine winger Nicolas Gaitan. Jose Mourinho is still dwelling over the best player in the wide-right role in his preferred 4-2-3-1 formation.
For now, Willian does that job but Mourinho wants someone more skilled and threating to operate from the right to give able support to Eden Hazard and Diego Costa.
