Liverpool star Dejan Lovren might have dropped the biggest hint of his former Southampton teammate Jose Fonte’s next destination. The Southampton ace has been linked heavily with a move to Manchester United but the Euro Cup-winning defender, it seems, is on his way to Anfield, at least the latest conversation between Lovren and him suggests so.

Delighted with the win in the Merseyside derby, the Croatia international took to Instagram to post a picture, to which the Southampton ace wrote:“Epic picture my brother!!! Well done.”
Lovren replied: “thanks, bro. hope to see you soon u know where. ;)”

The Portuguese international, whose contract is set to expire in June 2018, is yet to receive a contract extension which has raised speculations around his future at the St Mary’s. Fonte has become frustrated with the treatment he is receiving at the club and speculations are rife that he might quit the South coast outfit in the upcoming January transfer window.

Speaking earlier this month, the centre-back had said that he has still not received a new contract and vented his anger that the club was not willing to offer him a longer contract when they increased his pay to £80,0000-a-week after he helped Portugal win the European championship.

He has said:“There’s no contract on the table.There was in the summer, they offered me a pay rise. They didn’t offer me a new contract.They offered me a pay rise, which I’m entitled to discuss with my agent and entitled to say no to as well. I’m entitled to have my own opinion, so apart from that, that’s it.”

Moreover, he has been not included in the starting eleven in recent times which has made many believe that the defender is on his way out of the club. And amid all these, he has been linked heavily with Manchester United but it looks like he is on his way to their arch-rivals, Liverpool. The Reds have been looking for a centre-back and Fonte has the credentials to match their requirement.
