Call Diego Costa what ever you want, the fact is that the striker is one of the most powerful players in the game right now and Chelsea are almost lucky to have a player of his caliber leading the lines for them. Costa was involved in a tussle against Arsenal’s Laurent koscielny and Gabriel Paulista, which ended up with a red card for Gabriel.

Social media and renowned journalists have slaughtered Costa for being unreasonable with his acts which included forcing the ref to send off Gabriel, however, all Costa was doing, was to gain an advantage for his side.

There are not many strikers in the modern game who can be as dominant as Costa was against Arsenal and with the cunning side to his game, it makes him even more dangerous. Partial responsibility for the red card has to be taken by Arsenal as well since Costa’s antics are very much aware to everyone as he is not a new kid on the block. Knowing his tacts, Gabriel decided to fall for his trap and ended up hurting his own team.

What people are forgetting here is that it was the ref who eventually brought out the card. Costa was trying to get an advantage as any modern day player looks to do, be it the dive, faking injuries or any other tactics. In the end, Costa laid a perfect assist for Chelsea’s win tonight and few weeks later no one would remember what Costa did or who was at fault, all people will remember will be the scoreline and on the night it read Chelsea 2 Arsenal 0.
