Diego Simeone to Inter Milan is ‘Only a Matter of Time’

Atletico Madrid manager, Diego Simeone is set to join the Seria A club, Inter Milan soon, according to Simeone sister.

Diego Simeone is set to finish his long stay at Atletico Madrid.

Simeone, who played for Inter Milan from 1997 to 1999 has always expressed his wish to return to the club one day. And now it looks like a matter of time only for the Argentine. Natalia Simeone, who is the sister of Simeone and also acts as his agent says it will happen in the future. Natalia told La Gazzetta Dello Sport,

“Diego said it too, sooner or later, he’ll end up at Inter. I think it is only a matter of time. He loves the club, the atmosphere and living in Milan. Inter is a side he would really love to coach. I should point out that he is also still very fond of Lazio, too.”

Diego Simeone was about to leave the Spanish club in 2017, but in the end, he signed a new two-year contract. And his sister feels an unfinished business at Atletico Madrid made Simeone stay.

“At the end of the day, passion always wins out. Diego has been at Atletico for seven years. He is one of the best coaches in the world, but he remains where he knows there is still work to be done — and I stay with him.”

Meanwhile, Giovanni Simeone, who is the son of Simeone made his International debut for Argentina on Friday. He also scored in his debut in Argentina’s 3-0 victory against Guatemala. However, Natalia said Diego’s third child Giuliano Simeone who is 15 years old is more talented than anyone else.

“He’s the most talented of the lot. They make him play as a centre-forward, but I always preferred him in a No. 7 role rather than a No. 9.”
