Former Chelsea player Florent Malouda has joined Egyptian side Wadi Degla on a six-month deal, the club posted in their official Facebook page. The 35-year-old French attacking midfielder was not of part of any teams since the second edition of Indian Super League concluded, where he was employed with Delhi Dynamos.
The Egyptian club was in search for a marquee player and has found the taste in the former French international.
Malouda entered the limelight after joining French side Lyon in 2003 at an young age of 22. He then made 181 appearances for the club, winning them four Ligue 1 titles, and scoring 32 goals.
However, he is best known for his spell at West London club, Chelsea, for whom he joined in 2007. Over a span of six years, he was part and parcel of the team, making 228 appearances and found the back of the net 45 times, assisting 43 times as well.

He credited himself with a Premier League medal, three FA Cup triumphs and the famous UEFA Champions league sabotage in 2012, when Chelsea beat Bayern Munich in Allianz Arena. He was Chelsea’s player of the season in 2009-10 season.
But, his career took a downfall since then, as he was shipped to Turkey the following year, where he joined trabzonspor and due to medicore performances, he moved to Ligue 2 side FC Metz the next year.
Last year, he functioned in the heart of Delhi Dynamos’s midfield and helped the team to reach the semi-finals of ISL.
He has also made 8 appearances for France National team.
