Liverpool have completed the signing of Burnley striker Danny Ings after confirming that the club has agreed personal terms with the player. Ings will make his Anfield switch after completing his medical.
Danny Ings will join Liverpool after 1st July once his current contract with Burnely ends. Liverpool were quick to announce the transfer of Ings, who had scored 10 goals in his debut Premier League season with Burnley.
Ings, 22 was tipped to join either Manchester United or Real Sociadad in the summer but Liverpool have pressed ahead and agreed to bring the England U-21 striker at the club.
Ings will represent England in the U-21 European Championship thi summer and will lead the striking role along with fellow Premier League striker Harry Kane.
Ings is set to become Liverpool’s second summer signing after the Anfield club had confirmed the arrival of James Milner from Manchester City. Milner was signed on a free transfer after the club and player agreed terms for a move.
Ings will join the likes of Daniel Sturridge, Mario Balotelli, Rickie Lambert and Fabio Borini who will provide him competition for the starting 11 place at Anfield.
With arrival of Danny Ings, Liverpool are sure to ship some of the dead wood from their squad. Lambert and Borini look certain to depart the club while Balotelli’s future is still uncertain at the club.
