Leroy Sane has been pictured at Manchester City’s team hotel as his £31.2million move to the Etihad inches closer, even his club Schalke also tweeted that the German wonderkid is now in Manchester and is not attending their training camp.

Sane spent the weekend in the north-west as he believed to have agreed on personal terms ahead of his switch from Schalke.

And the midfielder was happy enough to pose for pictures with City supporters at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Hotel.

Sane is expected to complete his move to the Etihad Stadium within the next 24 hours as manager Pep Guardiola steps up his rebuilding plans.

One of the Bundesliga’s hottest young talents, Sane has shot to stardom at Schalke over the last few years.

He burst into the limelight with a cameo appearance against Real Madrid, scoring in Schalke’s 4-3 win at the Bernabeu in March 2015.

Only last season did he truly establish himself as a first-team player, however, his nine goals and seven assists earning him a place in Germany’s Euro 2016 squad.

The 20-year-old German is a dazzling dribbler. Sane’s first touch can be breathtaking, and he is never scared to launch a counter-attack by himself, taking on several defenders as he does so.

His finishing is also excellent, and though his scoring stats are hardly mind-blowing, he rarely misses chances when he gets them. His dribbling and technical ability have led to comparisons with Franck Ribery, Arjen Robben.

Guardiola has already signed Ilkay Gundogan and Nolito since taking over from Manuel Pellegrini in charge of the club.

Sane is the next man to arrive before Guardiola turns his attentions to capturing Everton defender John Stones.

City are ready to spend £40million to land the England defender, but the move is being held up while Everton boss Ronald Koeman desperately tries to find a replacement.

Swansea skipper Ashley Williams is the man Koeman wants in at Goodison Park but he faces a battle to persuade the Welsh club to sell their inspirational captain.
