As per the latest reports, FC Porto striker Jackson Martinez has agreed a summer move to Arsenal. Martinez was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United to replace Robin Van Persie and Radamel Falcao.
Martinez, 28 has been in fine form this season scoring 32 goals. The striker has been looking for a move away from the club. As per the latest reports from Jornal di Noticias, Martinez has agreed a pre-contract to sign with the Gunners who are looking to bring-in an able striker partner for Olivier Giroud.
FC Porto fans have accepted the fact that Martinez will depart from the club as they gave the Colombian striker a thundering send-off in Porto’s last game of the season where they were shouting “Thank you Martinez .. Thank You Martinez”.
This has further opened the way for Arsenal to sign the in-form striker, who has a release clause of £24.2 million in his contract. Matinez is 28 and is at a perfect age to make his big-money move to the Premier League.
