Daily Mirror’s David McDonnell was with MUTV last night to discuss the facts behind all the rumors linking several players for a summer move to Manchester United. McDonnell was quick to jump on Nathaniel Clyne’s proposed move to Manchester United.
McDonnell revealed how he has been told that, Clyne’s transfer to United is all but done. McDonnell said: “What I’m told, it’s a done deal.”
If the initial reports are to be believed, United are ready spend in the region of £25 million to land one of the promising right-backs in the game. Clyne’s Southampton exit was earlier reported by ESPN and further confirmed by Southampton’s manager Ronald Koeman and by Clyne himself.
Ronald Koeman earlier in the week suggested that he does not see Clyne stay at St. Mary’s next season and the move is imminent. Clyne further sparked the rumors of his exit by stating his desires of playing for the biggest clubs and his dream of playing in the Champions League.
Manchester United seem to be the perfect club for Clyne at the moment with Louis Van Gaal searching a dynamic right-back to fit his system and Clyne seems to be the ideal fit.
Initially the deal is reported to be in the region of £25 million but United could throw Javier Hernandez in a plyer-cash deal to lower the transfer fee. Clyne’s arrival could end Rafael’s time with the club, who has not been preferred by Van Gaal this season.
