Real Madrid president will reportedly hold talks with Spanish defender Sergio Ramos in China and wants the club captain to stay with the Spanish giants.

The defender though seems to want to join the English club, Manchester United but in what turns out to be a huge possibility, he may be offered new deal to stay at Real Madrid.

Florentino Pérez, the Real Madrid’s president and the chief executive, José Ángel Sánchez, will meet with Sergio Ramos in China this weekend and tell the central defender they do not want to sell him regardless of his desire to leave.

Manager Rafa Benitez has already said that Ramos will be staying 100% at Real Madrid and he will be the club captain come the 2015-16 season.

But the Manchester United manager, Louis van Gaal, in his press conference described transfers as a process, with the United manager saying: “Maybe Mr Ramos is in the process, you never know.” The club made an initial written bid of €40m (£28.2m) and reports in Spain have suggested there has been an improved offer.

Manchester United’s position remains that they will not let David de Gea go unless Madrid agree to negotiate on Ramos.

It will be an interesting few weeks till the end of the transfer window and the future of the two Spanish stars will depend on what the clubs and the players decide.
