Chelsea superstar Eden Hazard, who has grown differences with coach Jose Mourinho and is heavily linked to a Real Madrid move come summer, could be called as Eva Carneiro’s star witness in her constructive dismissal claim against Chelsea, according to Daily Mail.
Daily Mail has claimed that Chelsea fears that Eden Hazard will be called as Eva Carneiro’s witness when her claim for constructive dismissal is heard.
Although Hazard is reluctant to get involved in the case, the winger can be compelled to give evidence at an Employment tribunal, reports Daily Mail.
The former Chelsea team doctor Eva quit the job after Mourinho publicly criticized her role in handling Hazard’s injury in the dying minutes in the 2-2 draw against Swansea in October.
So,Hazard has to simply confirm whether he asked referee Michael Oliver for medication and treatment before Carneiro and physio Jon Fearn raced onto the pitch.
Mourinho publicly slammed the doctor and physio and accused them of time-wasting. Mourinho called the duo ”impulsive and naive” as Chelsea were down to 9 men after the incident.
Carneiro claimed her position at the club was left untenable and having left the club, Carneiro is now taking Chelsea to Employment Tribunal on constructive dismissal.
Carneiro’s lawyers have failed to reach an agreement with Chelsea and the tribunal is set to be held early next year, which could potentially leave Chelsea red-faced.
The doctor and physio was dropped from first team duty from very next match, causing a stir.
Mourinho was cleared by FA on claims of using discriminatory language towards Eva Carneiro, Eva was certainly not impressed.
She has said,”I wonder whether this might only be the formal investigation in this country where the evidence of the individuals involved in the incident was not considered relevant.”
”Choosing to ignore some of the evidence will surely influence the outcome of the findings.”- concluded Eva.
Chelsea are submitting their response in ET3 form and their documantation will be complete after Mourinho gives statement.
