Chelsea winger Eden Hazard says he would not copy John Terry’s captaincy style at Belgium. Eden is the current captain of the Belgian national team and has said that instead, he would like to lead by example by his performances. Chelsea captain John Terry has a vocal leadership style which is very effective. The former England international has been very much successful at Chelsea both as a captain and as a player.
Hazard quoted “‘It’s good for me to be the captain. I enjoy it.
‘But I can’t be like John Terry. As captain, I don’t talk too much, I try to talk with my feet on the pitch.’
Hazard had captained the Belgian side in the Euro 2016 where he had led Belgium in all their five games. Belgium eventually bowed out of the competition in the quarter-finals but Hazard showed glimpses of what kind of a player he is scoring two goals in the competition. Hazard has been in scintillating form for Chelsea this season and would like to continue this kind of form until the very end of his career.
Chelsea are currently placed second in the league table scoring 25 points from 11 games. Hazard and company have quickly adapted to their new manager’s style which is quite shocking and impressive. Chelsea next face Middlesbrough and Tottenham both of which are important games and manager Antonio Conte would expect Hazard to be in the same kind of form that he is in right now.
Hazard is also playing some exceptional football for his country as he has scored six goals in his last seven starts. The little winger is now hoping to take this kind of form to Russia 2018 where the world cup is scheduled to be held.
