5. Tottenham Spurs strive for consistency.
Tottenham have struggled so far in maintaining consistency this season and have only won seven out of 16 league games, putting consecutive league victories only twice in the season.
Spurs’ thirst to win can reignite after the win at Swansea by 2-1 and with Leicester and Burnley to come next. Tottenham starting XI had six under 24 players and Mauricio Pochettino praised about Christian Eriksen (22) and Kane (21) who both scored in Spurs win.
4. I don’t know where Ben Arfa is: Bruce
Steve Bruce, Hull City manager admitted that he doesn’t know about the whereabouts of Ben Arfa amidst the rumour that his contract will be cancelled.
Reports suggest that the Newcastle attacker who is on a season long loan deal at Hull returned to Paris to work on his fitness.
Rumours are that Bruce will terminate the loan of the Newcastle attacker who was last seen playing for Hull against a 3-0 loss to Manchester United.
Hull City manager told the reporters, “I don’t know if Hatem is in Paris, that’s the truth, as for not playing for Hull City again – at the moment he’s not in the squad.
3. Manchester City struggling without a target Man.
Manchester City’s performance against Leicester on Saturday was not up to expectation, teenager Angel Pozo was leading the attack which is not his position and was struggling to go through the defence. Thanks to a goal from Lampard, City picked up all the three points.
The next few fixtures will be very difficult for Manchester City and it will be interesting to see whether Manuel Pellegrini side will win their way without a recognised striker.
2. Oxlade-Chamberlain back into Arsenal’s midfield.
Santi Cazorla and Olivier Giroud both scored twice against Newcastle, Alexis Sanchez again showed his dynamism and creativity against the Magpies.
Chamberlain has been Gunner’s most impressive player, with his brilliant pace and amazing skills, he passed to the full backs comfortably.
Oxlade has played almost all across the midfield but due to the absence of Theo Walcott he is given a consistent position on the right of Gunner’s front. With injuries to Aaron Ramsey, Mikel Arteta and Jack Wilshere he was switched to the centre against Newcastle.
The 21 year old was wonderful in one on one situation and his versatility in the field can be used in the deeper role. And it will be a shame to see his new freedom restricted by Wenger by pulling him to the back.
1. David De Gea man of the match against Liverpool.
Manchester United increased their winning streak to 6 after they defeated Liverpool at Old Trafford by 3-0. Brendan Rodgers side had just the opposite score line last season for the same fixture.
David De Gea was the star of Sunday’s game as his performance made him the man of the match. De Gea has been consistent in his form this season. With so many defensive players injured, the Spainish goalkeeper has managed to win 5 clean sheets and made 47 saves in 16 matches.
Louis Van Gaal will finally breathe a sigh of relief once Chris Smalling, Luke Shaw and Marcos Rojo come back to the defensive line up.
