Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford has suggested that he is looking forward to a ‘new start’ under Erik ten Hag at the helm.
Ten Hag has taken over the reigns at Manchester United, kick-starting his era with a 4-0 win over Liverpool in the preseason. Marcus Rashford started the game, which was also his first start in while for the club.
An uncertain future at United was looming over Rashford’s head, with the 24-year-old linked with a move elsewhere this summer. Moreover, his contract extension talks were also put on hold with just a year remaining on his current deal.

However, Ten Hag’s arrival seems to have provided Marcus Rashford another lifeline to revive his career at United. The winger has confessed the same in his recent presser at United’s preseason.
Marcus Rashford says he is in a ‘good place right now’ after exit rumours
Rashford was reportedly looking for a new club a month ago, when his extension talks were stalled. It was highly likely that the youngster will leave his boyhood club, where he has scored 93 goals in 303 senior appearances.
Rashford said, “We can do a lot together. For me it is a fresh start, something I am looking forward to.”
He further indicated that he is ready to stay at the club and fight for his place. “I am in a good place right now. I am looking forward to getting more games under my belt and getting ready for the season,” added Rashford.
The England international also lost his place in the national team and looks set to miss the bus for the World Cup later this year. He is also aiming a return to Gareth Southgate’s side with the help of Ten Hag at United.

“It is an opportunity to refresh. I am ready to go again. I have used the opportunity to do what I have always done and refocus,” said the attacker.
“This is my first year I have been with the team since the beginning of pre-season. I feel a lot better than usual, when I go away with the nationals and come back part-way through pre-season. It is important to get a fresh start. I feel fresh and ready.”
United are now in Australia to face Melbourne Victory next in their preseason. Rashford said he is really relishing the chance of playing an exciting side in the tour.
“I think it’s going to be an amazing experience. It’s a massive opportunity for us to perform against a team that we don’t really know much about and also perform in front of fans that we don’t get the opportunity to do so throughout the season.
