Manchester City striker Erling Haaland took to social media after Arsenal dropped another crucial points on Friday night. Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka scored in the closing moments of the game to secure Arsenal a crucial point against Southampton at the Emirates.

Rival fans and even some Arsenal fans accused the Gunners of ‘bottling’ the Premier League title after dropping points in their last three league games. Mikel Arteta’s team will resume their league campaign next Wednesday when they travel to the Etihad to play second-placed Manchester City. And Erling Haaland, who has a staggering 32 league goals this season, will try to add to his tally when he faces the Gunners.

Erling Haaland in the ‘mood’ after Arsenal’s dismal run gives City the edge in title race

Arsenal could only manage a draw after falling behind 3-1 at home to struggling Southampton, denting their Premier League title aspirations and handing Manchester City control.  Southampton took the lead with only 27 seconds on the clock, courtesy of Aaron Ramsdale’s missed pass, through the electric Carlos Alcaraz, who then assisted Theo Walcott’s goal to make it 2-0 after 14 minutes.

Gabriel Martinelli quickly answered for Arsenal, scoring his eighth goal in last ten Premier League appearances. Despite the Gunners’ assault either side of half-time, Southampton’s Duje Caleta-Car headed home from a rare Saints attack. Martin Odegaard’s late curler then sparked Arsenal’s comeback, before Bukayo Saka scored in the 90th minute to tie the game at 3-3, the Gunners’ third consecutive draw.

The outcome may not have missed Erling Haaland’s attention, since the Premier League’s leading scorer sent an update on Twitter shortly after the final whistle blew. “MOOD.STILL” was the caption, which was accompanied by photographs of the striker in Manchester City training.

Arsenal appear to be a team that cannot handle the pressure of a title race, implying that they are a long way from being winners. The Gunners are practically handing the title to City after dropping points for the third game in a row, and this time was the most inexplicable on a chaotic, ridiculous night.

With a succession of horrible mistakes, Arsenal pushed the self-destruct button, leaving the fight back far too late, as they scarcely produced any chances until the final gasp drama. While it was agony for the north Londoners at home, Erling Haaland seemed to enjoy every bit of it, as he will now look ahead to lift the Premier League title with City in his debut season at the club.

City will have no Premier League action this weekend, as they take on Sheffield United in the FA Cup semifinals today. With the title too in their sights, Pep Guardiola’s men are in the fight for a treble as they brushed aside Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarterfinals to set up a semifinals date with Real Madrid. City now have the chance to become the first English team since Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United (1998/99 season) to win the treble.
