Manchester City duo Erling Haaland and Jack Grealish hilariously mocked one of their teammates with an award for being the ‘biggest fraud’. The Man City attackers took part in handing out awards themselves ahead of the highly anticipated Oscars. Grealish, 27, mocked fellow teammate and defender Ruben Dias on social media with a huge animated Oscar present in the background.

And it didn’t take long for Erling Haaland, who joined Grealish and Dias at City in the summer from Borussia Dortmund, to join in as well. Dias has had injury issues to deal with since the start of the season, and hasn’t been the regular name on Pep Guardiola’s team sheet as he used to be since signing for the club at the start of the 20/21 season.

Erling Haaland, Jack Grealish troll Dias over his Dortmund outing against the striker

Erling Haaland and Jack Grealish were indeed referring to the 2020/21 Champions League clash between Dortmund and Man City, where the Norwegian had an outing to remember whereas Dias had one to forget. The Portuguese centre-back was terrorised by Haaland throughout the game, before setting up a chance for his teammate. While trolling the defender for his struggles and awarding him the ‘biggest fraud’ award, Grealish said in the video:

“This award is for Ruben Dias for the biggest fraud. He’s in the gym four times a day… but we just never see anything. Remember when we played [Borussia] Dortmund a few years ago and he got bodied by this man.

“Yeah, I mean, he’s all the time in the gym and the results… where are the results?!”

It was a hilarious exchange between the two, who it seems have developed a brilliant bonding. Given the light-hearted culture of Guardiola’s dressing room, its no surprise that how quickly Erling Haaland and Jack Grealish have struck up a friendship.

Grealish joined the Cityzens in 2021 after completing a £100 million move from Aston Villa, followed by Haaland who joined last summer in a blockbuster deal. The 22-year-old forward has since established himself as the Premier League’s most productive attacker, with 28 goals in 26 games for so far for the club. Grealish has also shown his best side as a result of Haaland’s presence.

The England star has already surpassed his last season’s Premier League total of three goals and three assists with three goals and four assists in just 21 appearances this campaign. In Saturday’s narrow 1-0 victory at Crystal Palace, Grealish, Haaland, and Dias all made starts as City put pressure on title-rivals Arsenal, who replied on Sunday with a resolute attitude and a 3-0 win over Fulham on the road.
