Manchester City star Erling Haaland continues to hog the limelight because of his quirky behaviour. Apart from his stunning exploits on the field, the Norway international has also endeared him to the football fans with his attitude.

And he recently found himself in an interesting situation while on international duty in his homeland. With a sea of enthusiastic young fans surrounding him, the former Borussia Dortmund striker decided to oblige them with photographs.

However, things turned a bit tensed in a hilarious manner when a young supporter donning a Manchester United shirt eagerly approached him for a snapshot. Erling Haaland, who is known for his mischievous side, decided to have some fun with the fan. With a smirk on his face, Haaland quickly covered the United badge on the child’s shirt just as the photo was about to be taken.

Fans react to Erling Haaland’s gesture:

While most of the fans were amused by Erling Haaland’s gesture, it did not go down well with many most notably the supporters of Manchester United.  One Twitter user couldn’t help but come up with the infamous clash between Erling Haaland’s father, Alf-Inge Haaland, and former Red Devils captain Roy Keane, suggesting that the ghost of that incident still lingers, tweeting: “Keane haunts him to this day..”

Another United fan called Haaland a “clown.” Another fan tweeted: “Everything about them is just awkwardly weird.”

Meanwhile, Haaland has continued his stunning form on the football pitch. After helping Manchester City win the historic treble, he recently impressed for Norway too. During the international break, he scored one goal against Scotland and two against Cyprus.
