Everton 2-1 Arsenal: Twitter Reacts As Arsene Wenger's Men Miss The Chance To Go Top Of The Table 1

Arsenal missed the chance to leapfrog Chelsea and go top of the Premier League table at least for a day as Everton came from behind to stun the high-flying Gunners.

Arsene Wenger’s men, who had not lost a game since the 4-3 defeat to Liverpool on the opening match day, took the lead when a free-kick from Alexis Sanchez found the back of the net after taking a deflection off Ashley Williams. But Seamus Coleman restored parity when he slotted home an excellent cross from Leighton Baines just before the half time. Mesut Ozil got a golden opportunity to give his team the lead but the Germany international fired over from a Sanchez cut-back. The home team were dominating the possession and were duly rewarded when Ashley Williams rose the highest to score the winner four minutes from time.

Everton  captain Phil Jagielka was sent off in the dying minutes after picking up his second yellow card and Arsenal had two shots cleared off the line as the visitors desperately searched for the equaliser but the Toffees held on to register a memorable win.

The North London outfit is now three points behind leaders Chelsea, who have a game in hand and can open a six-point lead at the top if they defeat Sunderland on Wednesday night.
