Manchester United have been given huge boost in their attempts of signing Ayoze Perez in January after the striker revealed how he is flattered by the interest from The Red Devils. Spaniard scored a remarkable last minute goal to win the game against Spurs this weekend and showed what he can offer to the struggling Van Gaal’s side.
Following the game, Perez was speaking with IBTimes, where he said: ‘I just know the same as you, ‘What I hear, what I read. It is a great pleasure for me (to be linked with Man United and Spurs).
‘It is incredible, something very big and that’s because I’m doing well but I must go on. It’s my job. You never know. Football takes many turns.’
Manchester United have been in desperate need of a striker who can score goals after seeing the horror spell for Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial in front of the goal. The Duo have failed to net a single goal in last 6 league appearances.
That is why there have been a number of strikers linked with a move to Old Trafford in January including Chelsea target Jamie Vardy. However, seeing the league position and availability, Perez might be the only option left for Van Gaal to ponder.
United are in close competition with Arsenal for the league title and have to keep an eye on Tottenham and Liverpool as these two clubs could pip United for the top 4 spot in the end. And that is where a player like Perez will come in handy for Van Gaal who has an eye for goal.
