Manchester United stars were busy attending one of the club’s foundation programs. Stars like Ander Herrera, David De Gea, Angel Di Maria and Radamel Falcao attended a school event this week where they spoke exclusively to M.E.N and renowned journalist Samuel Luckhurst.

One of the questions that Luckhurst asked all the United stars was, “Which player would they like to sign if they were in charge of Manchester United”? All the players had different answers but Ander Herrera’s answer might not please the United fans great deal.

Herrera wants United to sign Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi, who is the arch nemesis to United’s former hero Cristiano Ronaldo.

Herrera’s answer was: “This is not good for Man United fans because everyone loves Ronaldo, but I think I would sign Messi,” before diplomatically backtracking.

Ander was joined by Falcao in the interview and the Colombian had an answer which must have won hearts many United fans around the world. Falcao picked Paul Scholes to be the man to bring back at Old Trafford.

Falcao also talked about the great work Manchester United are doing in putting the academy together behind the scenes. Falcao is very impressed with talents like Adnan Januzaj and Andreas Pereira. The Colombian thinks these two have a very bright future ahead of them at Manchester United.

Speaking of Paul Scholes, Ander Herrera is a massive fans of the former United legend and hopes to emulate Scholes one day at Manchester United. Herrera said:

“I wish one day… I can be so important for the fans, but I have to work very, very hard for that.

“But, I think I am 25-years-old, I have to learn a lot from my teammates, from great players like Paul Scholes and I want to learn.”

Herrera has very quickly become a fan favourite at Old Trafford and many sections of the fans are not happy with Louis Van Gaal for benching the Spaniard on a regular basis. Herrera has a strong shout to be in the starting 11 as he has been in rich goal-scoring form lately.

On being asked about how he is coping with not being a regular in the United playing 11, Herrera replied:

“When the manager wants me to play I am going to be ready to play. When the manager wants me to help from the bench, I am going to be ready also.

“Because I am a Manchester United player, I am a professional. I feel lucky because I play for Manchester United and I am going to help the club and the team always.

Manchester United play Sunderland in the Premier League with a hope to bounce back from their 2-1 defeat against Swansea with both Ander Herrera and Radamel Falcao look set to start the game for Manchester United.
