Chelsea won the League Cup yesterday by beating Tottenham 2-0 courtesy goals from John Terry and Diego Costa. Sadly though, just few hours after their win, a shambolic incidence happened when 4 Chelsea fans were thrown off the train for allegedly making racist and abusive claims to co-passengers.
The entire group, which were claimed to be Chelsea fans were evicted from a Euston to Manchester service after their Capital One Cup victory at 10:30 PM. Transport officers were called and a complaint was filed which then saw that group being evicted from the train
The witness which saw all the entire incidence claimed it was horrendous. He went on to say:
They were Chelsea fans and they were being nasty and offensive. One passenger, a black man, moved carriages because he was disgusted with them.
“One girl was crying. The police got on and marched them off the train.’”
Another witness said the fans were asking two young Asian girls where their burkas were and singing songs about Spurs and Auschwitz.
Following the incidence Chelsea’s spokesperson came out and addressed the media shortly after and said:
‘We’re not aware of any evidence to suggest that these were Chelsea supporters. But if they are we will assist the British Transport Police with their enquiries.’
It was not long ago when an ugly incidence took place in Paris where few Chelsea fans were seen making nasty and racist remarks to a French black male who tried to get on the train but was forcefully stopped. Chelsea have suspended those 5 guilty fans from the incidence which took place in Paris.
Amid the fresh allegations British Transport Police have revealed how shortly after 10:30pm on Sunday, officers were called to meet a train on route to Manchester after reports of racist and abusive behaviour by many people, claimed to be football fans.
Police Spokesman said: ‘Colleagues from Staffordshire Police also attended. Officers asked four men to leave the train at Stoke. We have spoken to two witnesses, and investigations continue.
‘Rail passengers and staff have the right to travel and work in peace. Abusive behaviour on trains and at stations is unacceptable, and we will not hesitate to investigate any such incidents.’
