For Arsenal fans, the topic of Cesc Fabregas is one that divides opinions.
While some supporters still treasure the Spaniard for his eight years of service, others see him as a traitor for donning a Chelsea jersey. Consequently, certain groups of Gooners jump at the opportunity to hit back at him whenever the opportunity presents itself.
Fabregas’ latest Instagram post has exemplified this. It appears even the slightest imperfection with his social media activity can see Arsenal fans react and it’s causing a stir.
The upload in question proves something of a trip down memory lane for Fabregas.
Today marks the thirteenth anniversary of the midfielder’s full debut as a professional footballer. To mark the occasion he uploaded a photo montage of his career highlights and the silverware he has collated over the years.
Trophies seem to be the mean feature. In fact, the collage includes the 29-year-old lifting a cup in Chelsea, Barcelona and Spanish colours.
It’s quite a decorated photo too with the World Cup, two European Championships and the Premier League featuring. While the Spanish Super Cup doesn’t really compare, it makes the cut nonetheless.

However, one picture that doesn’t make the cut is Fabregas with the FA Cup, a trophy he won with Arsenal in 2005. While this may seem a ridiculously obscure omission, fans of the north London club aren’t best pleased.
Its provoked a deluge of snake emojis and rather left-field claims that the Spaniard has deliberately snubbed the Gunners.

It must be highlighted that Fabregas does include a photo of his debut and thus him in an Arsenal shirt, but the FA Cup win remains truant. A preference for the World Cup photo may have been understood, but the Spanish Super Cup selection has raised questions.
Then again, the 29-year-old did win more trophies in one season at Barcelona than he did in eight at Arsenal.
Gunners can at least take some satisfaction in Fabregas’ start to the season though.
In fact, the ex-Barcelona star’s only Premier League start this campaign came in the 3-0 bludgeoning at the Emirates. Under Antonio Conte, he’s struggling to secure regular game time and it’s taking its toll.
If reports are to be believed, Fabregas could be leaving for anywhere from Manchester City to the MLS. What is for sure though is that he faces a fight on his hands to become a Chelsea regular once again.
The midfielder hasn’t been anywhere near his best since the 2015 Premier League win. However, when he can display so many glorious moments in one Instagram post, it’s clear 18 troublesome months won’t spoil 13 spectacular years.
Unfortunately for Arsenal fans, though, that 2005 cup capture isn’t considered a career highlight for Cesc.
