Reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that PSG’s Pablo Sarabia is set to join Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers. Sarabia, a versatile attacker has spent three-and-a-half-years at the Parisian club since joining from Sevilla for £16m in 2019. He was also loaned to Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon for the 21/22 season after failing to make an impression in Paris.

Sarabia had always been a starter for Sevilla throughout his three years at the club. Moreover, the 30-year-old was also a key part of Luis Enrique’s Spain set-up, being a regular player of the national team under the ex-coach. However, Sarabia found it difficult to break into the starting eleven of a star-studded PSG team which has attacking potent in Kylian Mbappe, Neymar, Lionel Messi and Hugo Ekitike. As a result, the two parties have decided it is best to transfer Sarabia on a permanent deal, with Wolves his next destination.

Wolves make PSG attacker fourth winter signing

Wolves have been on a resurgence under new coach Julen Lopetegui after sacking Bruno Lage before the World Cup. The former Sevilla knows Sarabia very well given the PSG player’s years in Spain with stints across Sevilla and Getafe. Moreover, Sarabia is a product of Real Madrid’s academy, Real Madrid Castilla. he was however unable to make it big with the Los Blancos, but did his prove talent with Sevilla and Getafe.

He is now awaiting to complete his move to Wolves after a short-spell in France. A versatile attacker, who can play on either flanks as well as a second-striker, Sarabia was signed by the Parisians after his 43 goals and 38 assists in 151 games for Sevilla impressed them immensely. However, he could only manage 21 goals and 12 assists across his first two seasons with PSG, which prompted them to loan him out to Sporting CP during the summer of 2021.

The attacker revived his career in Portugal, racking up 21 goals and 10 assists in 45 appearances during the 21/22 season alone, also helping the club to the Portuguese League Cup triumph. Sporting were massively impressed with the attacker and even wanted to make his move permanent, but couldn’t reach a financial agreement with his French employers.

Back in Paris last summer, Sarabia is once again firing blanks with zero goal contributions in 19 games in all competitions so far. It was then decided that it is time for him to leave the French capital with Wolves showing immediate interest. The Premier League club is in search of talented youngsters as well as established players to reinforce their squad in a bid to revive the season under Lopetegui. They have even reached an agreement to sign Sarabia for £4.4m as Fabrizio Romano revealed through his Twitter handle:

“Pablo Sarabia will sign the contract as Wolves player on Tuesday — medical tests have been booked. Here we go confirmed. Both Sarabia and João Gomes will be unveiled as Wolverhampton player this week, confirmed.”

Sarabia is now on course to become Wolves’ fourth signing of the winter market, as they have been super-active this month. They have already brought in striker Matheus Cunha on a loan from Atletico Madrid and midfielder Mario Lemina for £10 million from OGC Nice. Flamengo prodigy Joao Gomes has also been signed and sealed and is expected to be unveiled alongside Sarabia.
