The Premier League leaders Arsenal travelled away to Anfield to face off against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side on Wednesday night. It was expected to be
an intense game on the night and the two sides did not disappoint, with end to end stuff right through.
It was the home side that took the lead on 10th minute of the match after some good quick play, when Roberto Firmino scored off of a rebound from Emre Can’s shot. However, the lead only lasted four minutes as Aaron Ramsey made it 1-1 with a quick shot to beat Mignolet at his near post.
The Brazilian added a second for the Reds on the 19th minute with a superb right footed finish to make it 2-1.
Despite that, the visitors once again equalized with Olivier Giroud deflecting a corner into the back of the net with Simon Mignolet failing to deal with the shot on the 25th minute to make it 2-2, with both teams going into the break level.
After the restart, it was Arsene Wenger’s side who took the lead, as the French striker added a second to his name giving his side a 3-2 lead on the 55th minute. Both sides tried to push for more goals, though there were really good chances wasted.
Eventually, it was a superb sub Joe Allen, who did the trick for Klopp, as the came off the bench and scored in the 90th minute of the game to make it 3-3, with both sides taking just a point from this closely contested match.
Here are how the fans reacted on Twitter to the draw:
When you take all the positives from last night’s game, you’ll realize it wasn’t all that bad. Previously, we would have lost 5-1 #LFCvAFC
