Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United side travelled away to the Britannia Stadium for their game against Stoke City on Boxing Day, as they looked to get back to winning ways in the league. The Dutchman’s side had not won in their last two matches in the league and were hoping to change that at the weekend with a solid performance this time around, though it would not be an easy game on their travels. The Red Devils were looking to take back all three points from this game, as they wanted to keep their hopes alive for challenging for the Premier League title alive.
Despite that, Van Gaal’s plans did not work out well on the night, as Bojan Krkic managed to give his team the lead in the 19th minute stunning the opposition. Also, Marko Arnautovic doubled the lead for the hosts in the 26th minute giving them the advantage, as they began to dominate the match.
The visitors pushed forward in their search to find a goal though could not create anything solid enough to trouble the opposition defence, as chances were not really finished off. The game eventually finished at 2-0, which will now make things quite tough for the Dutch manager, whose side have been very poor now in the recent weeks and just don’t seem to be improving.
Here are how the fans reacted on Twitter after yet another loss for their side which might mean further trouble for Van Gaal, as the fans have lost their patience with the current United boss:
If you can’t stand by the club during a bad run don’t fucking put #GGMU when we are winning.
