Fans react on Twitter to Arsenal’s 1-2 loss to Watford

North London giants Arsenal were up against their league rivals Watford in the quarter-finals stages of the FA Cup, as the holders took on the Premier League outfit at the Emirates. The Gunners wanted to win the game and keep the momentum going, as they went into the second leg against Barcelona in the Champions League in mid-week. It did start well for Arsene Wenger’s side, who saw various chances getting wasted in the first half as they kept pushing for an opening goal.

Things did not get any better for the hosts in the second half as the Hornets took the lead just five minutes after the restart. It was Odion Ighalo, who beat David Ospina to make it 1-0 in the 50th minute. It was Adlene Guedioura, who doubled their lead as he added a second for his side to double their lead on the 63rd minute. Arsene Wenger’s side did manage to score a single consolation goal, as Danny Welbeck came on as a sub and left and his mark on the game on the 88th minute.

However, the England international missed an easy chance on an open goal a minute later as Arsenal failed to equalize and knocked out of the competition. Eventually, the game ended in a 2-1 loss to Wenger’s team. Here is how the fans reacted on Twitter after this shocking defeat, with talks of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s possible arrival at the club as well in some of the posts:
