The Arsenal face German giants Bayern Munich at the Emirates on Tuesday night as they fight to revive their spot in the Champions League. The Arsenal gaffer, Mr Wenger has said that the team will be showing confidence and would be taking positives from their form in the league. Arsenal is currently 2nd on the PL standings, but the lads are struggling in the Champions League. Having lost both of their opening games in the F Group, the team faces a do or die situation in their fixture against the Bavarians. However after their loss to Dinamo Zagreb, a controversy arose as one of the Dinamo Zagreb players, Arijan Ademi, failed a drug test.

Wenger showed his displeasure after being beaten by a ‘doped’ opponent. The fans on Twitter went bonkers after this news broke out and demanded points in the favour of the North London club. However, UEFA are still investigating on Ademi’s B sample and are yet to make any comment. The competition’s rules state that team sanctions would apply only in the case where more than one player is found failing the drug test. It seems as to Arsenal won’t be benefiting in any way from this situation.

As for Bayern, they’ve netted 37 goals in their 11 match winning run in all sorts of competition this year. Beating Dinamo Zagreb 5-0 in their last CL game, goal machine Lewandowski scored a hat-trick and there’s nothing stopping him from scoring more and more goals! Lewandowski is brilliant inside the box because of his precise technique, clean finishing and movements. Arsenal will need the experience of Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny to deal with Lewandowski and stop him from adding his name on the score sheet. Pep Guardiola has stated that Arsenal would have an advantage as they cannot afford to lose after their last two games.

Pep says that the Gunners are aware of their current situation and will put their best foot forward to put up a tough fight against his team. One can expect an intense 90-minute clash among the two clubs and Pep adds saying that he can imagine Bayern ending with zero points from the fixture and facing Arsenal in Germany. And then, the German team would be like animals on the field as that would be their last chance, says Bayern boss Guardiola. Theo Walcott says that Arsenal can beat the German team if they perform the same way they did against English giants, Manchester United. The club is aware of its abilities and possesses potential to beat any team.

The performance of the English clubs in the CL has been poor and Arsenal have been one of them as they were really naïve in their game approach as they took Olympiacos lightly and ended up losing to them. Ospina who conceded a silly own goal against them is likely to miss the game against Bayern due to an injury. This means Petr Cech would be making his first CL appearance for Arsenal on Tuesday night. Arsenal centre-back Gabriel would be now available and Giroud makes a return from a European suspension after being red carded in Zagreb. Robben also misses out on the Bayern team squad following his thigh injury which took place in September. All eyes would be on Alexis to see if we can get Arsenal on the winning score line, as for the FCB fans, Lewandowski will be a pleasure to watch as his goal scoring reign is expected to continue.
