Find Out Who Is Chelsea’s Most Improved Player This Season So Far 1

The Blues have improved dramatically in recent weeks under Antonio Conte, but one player’s upturn in form has been more remarkable than the rest.

Since switching his Chelsea team to three at the back, Antonio Conte has seen some drastic improvements all across the pitch. His side have won five consecutive league games without conceding a goal, and many individuals have raised their game.

In defence, David Luiz looks far more solid and assured, and is slowly cutting out the mistakes that for so long have hampered his game.

Nemanja Matic looks like the player of two years ago who helped Chelsea to the Premier League title, and Eden Hazard is back to his influential and unstoppable best under the Blues’ new manager.

But there is one player who has emerged from the Chelsea wilderness with great aplomb – and nobody would have predicted that he would be starting so regularly at Stamford Bridge this season.

That man is Victor Moses. He has been a mainstay at right wing back in Conte’s new system, and has shown a capacity to balance attack and defence that had previously gone unnoticed.

This is largely down to his new position. Never before has Moses been given the opportunity to prove his ability to track back as well as provide an attacking threat, but now as a wing back he has been given that license.

He has also demonstrated a positional sense that few would have believed that he possessed before the start of this season. Both the player and his manager must be given credit for this upturn in form.

The Nigerian international had been on loan for three consecutive seasons since signing for Chelsea from Wigan in 2012. Liverpool, Stoke City and West Ham United all took a chance on Moses, but he failed to really impress at any of the above.

But he is certainly doing so at Chelsea this season, and his example should give any out of favour player confidence that a change in manager can lead to a change in fortunes.
