Fiorentina have announced the signing of French midfielder Jordan Veretout from English football club Aston Villa on a four-year contract, with the option to extend to five seasons.

“It’s a great day for me, I’m ready to give my best for Fiorentina,” Veretout told the club’s website.

The 24-year-old made his professional debut for French club Nantes in 2011 and appeared 146 times for the side.

In 2015, Veretout joined Aston Villa on a five-year deal for an undisclosed fee, but only appeared for the team 25 times.
