With the show piece event set to begin with a month’s time, Sportzwiki provides its readers with five strikers who can calim the golden boot in Brazil.

Fred (Brazil): There was much doubt on the 30 year old on whether he could lead the line for Brazil up front but the Fluminese number nine won the golden boot in the tournament which doubted his ability in the International stage. The striker will be once again be in the in the middle of the front three up front in the Selecao side whose focal point would be Neymar. The hosts have a relatively easy group stages while Holland might be a potential banana skin but it wouldn’t be a surprise if Fred drives his team deep in the showpiece event. Gonzalo Higuain (Argentina): The Argentine had a superb first season in the Serie A with Napoli scoring 22 goals and grabbing 11 assits as the Partenopei won the Coppa Italia and finished in thrid position in the standings. Argentina possess one of the strongest attacking line ups going into the showpiece event and Alessandro Sabella is expected to play a 4-3-3 setup with Higuain being the focal point beside Messi and Aguero. The Albiceleste have the squad to go all and make no mistake if Higuain gets into his groove, the golden boot might be snapped up with the trophy.

Luis Suarez (Uruguay): With 31 goals and 12 assists this season in the Premier League, The Uruguayan will travel to Sambaland with a huge reputation and especially one which can catapault Oscar Tabarez’s side in the showpiece event. El Pistolero will combine with Edinson Cavani and Diego Forlan in what would be a spine chilling threat for the opposition defense. Uruguay find themselves in a tricky group alongside England and Italy apart from a fervent Costa Rica outfit but if the Liverpool striker is in the mood, no potent defense can stop the Suarez juggernaut in Brazil.

Miroslava Klose (Germany): What a fitting end this would be for the 35 year old German who has been a bit part player for Lazio this season featuring in 27 apearances, scoring 5 goals and grabbing a couple of assists. Joachim Loew has insited that klose will play an integral part for the Germans in the World Cup and with Mario Gomez not being in the squad, Klose can give himself a major boost and finish his career on a high. The striker away from rqualling Brazilian Ronaldo as the all time leading goal scorer in the World Cup.
