Darren Fletcher is happy at West Brom
Former Manchester United midfielder has expressed his happiness at new club, West Bromwich Albion. Darren who made 227 appearances at Old Trafford says West Brom is the right place for the midfield maestro. The 31 year old believes his decision of moving to West Brom has worked totally perfect for him and he is enjoying his time at the club. With the Baggies, Fletcher has played in every minute of the Premier League.
Darren Fletcher was a successful player at Manchester United, a fan favourite. The former gaffer, the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson was also a admirer of the midfielder. In his retirement address to the Old Trafford crowd, Sir Alex Ferguson mentioned just two players by name. One was Paul Scholes. The other was Fletcher – who he wished a speedy recovery – at a time when his career appeared to be in the balance.
Fletcher was diagnosed with the chronic bowel condition ulcerative colitis back in 2011, by the time Ferguson left in 2013 the long-term illness had already cost him two years in which he’d barely played. Fletcher had also undergone surgery. This affected his career badly as the midfielder faced difficulties due to this sickness. Fletcher’s departure from United was heartbreaking for the fans. It wasn’t easy for them to see him leave. However, things have worked well for him. Fletcher is extremely joyous at West Brom. He says, “From day one it’s felt right. I can’t imagine myself anywhere else.“It means a lot just to be playing and maybe even more from a health point of view that I’ve barely missed a training session since I’ve been here.”
