Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has come out squashed rumours linking Marco Reus to Real Madrid. Perez has stated that Madrid are not looking to sign Reus this January or in the next transfer window.

Marco Reus has been subject to constant transfer rumours attracting interest from Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool. Reus has alerted all these speculation linking him away from Dortmund by not agreeing to sign a new contract, as per BILD.

Perez denied Real Madrid’s inention of signing Reus by saying: “I am good friends with Borussia’s president [Reinhard Rauball],” “We’re not looking at Reus, in the same way as we’re not talking about renovations.”

These comments make sense as well since Real Madrid already have Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez and Karim Benzema as the attacking options and signing Reus will only disturb the balance of this fine Real Madrid side which has seen them win 21 back to back games.

Post the Perez comments on Marco Reus rumors Jose Felix Diaz of Marca has suggested that Real Madrid are looking to snap up best prospects and spend on the younger signing. This approach does coincide with Fiorentina Perez’s statement denying Real Madrid’s interest in signing Marco reus from Borussia Dortmund.

Marco Reus is currently side lined due to an ankle injury after scoring six goals and assisting three in 11 appearances this season. Reus will have to recover from his injury and prove his fitness to be a major transfer target for top European clubs.

Out of Reus’ potential suitors, Barcelona are dealing with a transfer ban and now Fiorentino Perez coming out squashing any Madrid interest in Reus leaves the German International with little options to choose from and we might end up seeing Reus play in the English Premier League.
