Argentinian striker, Carlos Tevez has claimed that newly appointed Chelsea boss Antonio Conte personally contacted him in order to discuss a move to the west London club.
This Monday, Tevez revealed that Chelsea were keen to lure him away from Argentinian club Boca Juniors, but didn’t want to leave his home – Argentina.
The former Man City and Man United forward also played under the Italian mastermind coach Antonio Conte during his spell at Juventus and now the Chelsea boss wants to reunite with the forward.
On few previous occasions, The Boca Juniors star publicly revealed that the Blues were after him, but now the 32-year-old has added some extra spice into the story by providing the details of Antonio Conte himself contacting him to join Chelsea.
In an interview with Argentine radio station Radio La Red Tevez quoted :
‘The day after we lost Conte called me and asked if I wanted to come to Chelsea,’
‘I told him no.’
The Argentinian is determined to play his rest of the remaining years and then retire at Boca Juniors.
According to reports, David Sullivan, West Ham United’s co-chairman also confirmed his attempt to sign Tevez back to the Hammers but the deal went off due to the Argentinian’s high salary demands.
After all these, we can be pretty sure that there will be no more ‘Tevez Show’ in the Premier League, at least not after failed attempts of Conte!
