Former Manchester United striker sees THIERRY HENRY in Anthony Martial
Former Manchester United star striker Louis Saha has hailed fellow Frenchman and Manchester United new boy Anthony Martial as a great player.
Manchester United bought Anthony Martial from AS Monaco on the transfer deadline day for a record 36 million pounds transfer fee which are the highest ever for a teenager.
Speaking about Martial, Saha said: “He’s got that speed, that power, he’s got that youth in him so he’ll surprise a lot of defenders because they don’t know him.
“It’s a great asset for Manchester United and that’s what they needed because up front they lack speed sometimes.
“In France we call him the next Thierry Henry because he can play left or right and he’s got a great ability with the ball.
“He can take on three, four players with ease, there is no problem. At the same time, the new generation has no fear.
“He’s got such an ability that he can win trophies for Manchester United I believe that, but I don’t want to put too much pressure on him.”
Saha, who enjoyed a trophy-laden four-year spell at United, believes Martial will bring a different dimension to United’s attack and has backed him to torment unsuspecting Premier League defenders.
Anthony Martial is currently with the French national squad and has been fielded in their last two matches as a second-half substitute. He is regarded as the next big player in the country and could grow up to be as good as legend Thierry Henry.
Anthony Martial is likely to make his Manchester United debut this weekend as the Red Devils take on arch rivals Liverpool FC on Saturday, 12th September.
