Barcelona’s transfer situation with Frenkie de Jong has further turned from bad to worse after the midfielder liked a comment on social media criticizing the club’s ‘handling’ of him.
De Jong finds himself at crossroads after Barcelona are reportedly forcing him to accept a move to Manchester United. The player wants to stay at his ‘dream’ club and his hence against the transfer.
On the other hand, Barcelona have already agreed a deal in principle with United for De Jong worth €75 million fee plus €10 million in add-ons.

However, United’s languishing attempts to agree personal terms with De Jong is evading the deal from its completion.

In the midst of the chaos, Frenkie de Jong has once again reiterated through his Instagram handle that he his unhappy with the Catalans trying to push him towards an exit.
The Dutchman liked a comment saying, “I disliked the way we have handled Frenkie’s situation” made by ActualiteBarca on Instagram.
De Jong looks clearly enraged with the club striking a deal with United against his wish. Barcelona are deep into their financial crisis and need to make those €80 million from De Jong’s deal to register their new signings.
The Catalans have added Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie to their team this summer. However, to register them Barcelona need to sell in the excess of over €80 million.

Frenkie de Jong is their only saleable asset worth the price tag of €80 million.
However, a revelation made earlier explained that Barcelona owe De Jong €20 million in wages which stands as a roadblock in his transfer to United.
Nonetheless, De Jong has removed his ‘Like’ from ActualiteBarca’s comment moments after it sparked controversy.
Everybody is now confused over De Jong removing the like. Either a goof up has occurred, or the frustration really took a toll over the 25-year-old.
Meanwhile, Frenkie de Jong has travelled with Barcelona on their preseason tour to America, further putting a question mark on his potential move to United.
