Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong takes a swipe at Steven Gerrard’s inability to win a Premier League title with an Instagram post.

Frimpong, who now plays for newly-promoted Russian Premier League side FC Ufa has mocked Stevie G following the news that ‘captain fantastic’ is set to leave the Premier League.

Gerrard announced on Friday that he will leave the Anfield club at the end of the season, with Major League Soccer his likely destination.

During his time with Liverpool, Gerrard has won a Champions League, one UEFA Cup, two FA Cups and three League Cups along with a numerous individual honours.

But Gerrard will exit Liverpool without the Premier League medal he so desperately craved. Hence, Frimpong was quick to poke fun about it on his Instagram page with a split image of Gerrard and Manchester United’s often criticised midfielder Anderson.

The image shows Gerrard holding a tag, which has these words: “Finished above Man United 2014.” While Anderson can be seen holding his four Barclays Premier League medal he won during his time at Old Trafford.

The post was quickly deleted following a string of negative comments aimed at a man now more famous for his online presence than anything he attempted to achieve on a football pitch.

According to ESPN, The Ghanaian had previously wrote on Twitter, “How am I gonna draw girls now?” just hours after being released by Arsenal last January.

Before that, he had said “Sometimes I wish I was white and English” when asked why he was not involved in a League Cup match against Chelsea.

Frimpong was released by League 1 side Barnsley just four months after signing from Arsenal, which fans aren’t shy to let him know.
