David Ospina is desperate to try his luck away from the Emirates as the arrival of Petr Cech has made him out of favour.

Arsenal’s Colombian goalkeeper David Ospina last night gave a strong hint that he wants to join Besiktas, after the out of favour keeper liked several tweets from his fans requesting him to join the Turkish club.

Ospina overthrew Wojciech Szczesny to become the no. 1 goalkeeper for Arsenal last season, but has now fallen back as the reserve keeper behind Petr Cech, who joined the Gunners for £11m  from Chelsea in the summer. Beşiktaş are right now at the top of Turkish Super League and on the verge of booking a berth in the Europa League Round of 32.

However, after Wojciech Szczęsny was loaned out to Roma he was expected to have some playing time.

The Colombian keeper reportedly had a verbal agreement with Arsene Wenger that he would get first team appearance in Champions League despite the signing of Petr Cech from the defending Premier League champions. Wenger did give a chance to Ospina in the early stages of Champions League, but he was subsequently left out after emerging pressure to play Cech following Ospina’s series of costly mistakes during the 3-2 defeat to Olympiakos.

On the other hand, after a frustrating start at home against West Ham United in the league, when his two simple mistakes arguably rob Arsenal of any of the three points, 33-year-old Petr Cech has shown his quality.

The Colombian has played just three matches for Arsenal this term, one in League Cup, and two more in the Champions League. He was linked with a possible move to Besiktas In the summer transfer window also, but he decided to stay and fight for his spot.

Ospina, while on international duty, also said that he will decide his future in the January transfer market.

The 27-year-old goalkeeper moved from Nice to Arsenal for £3m in July 2014 and has played 26 matches in all competitions in two years following his move from Ligue 1.

Here are the tweets Ospina liked last night.
