The controversy surrounding Gerard Pique and Shakira is refusing to go away, with the retired footballer’s new girlfriend Clara Chia Marti being dragged in it. Shakira’s diss track, ‘Shakira Bzrp Music Sessions 53’ which aimed dig at Pique and Clara became a hit and broke Latin YouTube records. However, it has reportedly gone too far, with Clara now facing the unfortunate consequences.
It is being reported from Spain that Clara, a public relations student has been forced to work remotely from her parents’ home to avoid public attention, which has taken a toll over her. Since breaking up after a 12-year relationship, Gerard Pique and Shakira have been having a bitter falling out, often exchanging taunts and digs at each other through various mediums such as interviews, or songs by the Colombian singer.

Being called “the other woman” has apparently taken its toll on Gerard Pique’s new girlfriend, who appears to be reeling from Shakira’s popular diss track. Clara’s parents have grown worried about their daughter, and have even obstructed her from living with the ex-footballer in his house. She is currently ‘holed up’ at her parents’, according to journalist Saul Ortiz as she battles hatred from Shakira, 45, following her diss track. Ortiz revealed:
“She has been at her parents’ house for about eight days, teleworking. She has needed a refuge because her state of mind is not good. It’s not easy being a girl of 23 and being on the lips of Spain and the whole world. It has taken its toll on her and she needed to take a step away.”
Spanish journalist Lorena Vazquez had also reported:
“They stop her [Clara] in the street, they sing the song to her, everyone recognizes her, and as she is quite a shy girl.”
In her song, Shakira called out everyone, right from Gerard Pique to his new girl to even his mom. In verse of the song, Shakira sings:
“I’m too big for you, that’s why you’re with someone just like you. This is for me to mortify you, chew and swallow so it doesn’t sting, I won’t return to you any more even if you cry or beg me.
I understood that it’s not my fault that they criticize you, I only make music, sorry that I splashed you. No hard feelings babe. I wish you good luck with my so-called replacement.

Gerard Pique too gave back to his ex, as he arrived at work driving a $8,000 Renault Twingo. Meanwhile, Shakira has persisted in her struggle against her allegedly unfaithful ex, even forbidding her two sons, Sasha, 7, and Milan, 10, from referring to Gerard’s mother as “grandma.” Within days of its release, the single by the Colombian superstar shot to the top of Spotify’s Top 50 Global chart. Moreover, it became the Latin song with the most streams in a single day in the history of the platform’s chart.
