Despite the recent controversies around FIFA regarding the bids for 2010 World Cup and 2014, 2018 World Cup bids; a new controversy came to the lime light.

The corruption in football is beyond FIFA as the Football associations were ready to bribe the officials of the biggest football governing committee. With the bids for both 2018 and 2022 World Cup bids under heavy scrutiny, a new controversy aroused as German DFB has done ill-things to snap the 2006 World Cup.

The controversy is beyond bribery as the newspapers claim that the German DFB has shipped arms to Saudi Arabia in exchange for being awarded to host the 2006 World Cup.

Zeit claim that the week before Germany was awarded the 2006 World Cup, a shipment of RPGS was made to Saudi Arabia by Germany. Recently 14 officials of FIFA were arrested in Zurich on charges of corruption and Sepp Blatter decided to step down as FIFA president amid the controversies.
