After Cristiano Ronaldo’s transfer from Real Madrid to Juventus, everything seems possible in this transfer window. Inter Milan also are one of the teams who tried to go big and thought of pocketing the services of Luka Modric.

According to the reports, Inter Milan were trying to contact Luka Modric’s agent for a possible transfer to Seria A.

The Seria A club tried to communicate with Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric’s agent since the last few days. But soon after, they had to end their interest, as Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez declared that any buyer must pay his €750 million (£670m/$870m) release clause to the services of the Croatian player. The Real Madrid president told reporters,

“The only possibility that Modric leaves is by paying €750 million.”

Modric led his country Croatia to the finale of the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia. However, the 4-2 defeat against France ended their dreams of lifting the World Cup for the first time.

However, Croatia had a dream run and particularly Luka Modric, who won the Golden Ball. Modric’s men thrashed Argentina 3-0 in the group stage, where the midfielder scored a stunner and also elected as man of the match.

Courtesy of the performance in the World Cup, the interest for Modric has grown up for teams even more. But after losing Ronaldo, Real Madrid can’t afford to lose any more senior player, and with Perez’s statement, it has been proved.

Luka Modric is currently on vacation following the World Cup in Russia until next week. He has a contract with the Los Blancos till June 2020. As of now, Real Madrid are currently on the US tour and have already played their first match against Manchester United.

Inter Milan now likely to come away empty-handed from their attempts to land two of the world’s most renown mid-fielders. They were well set to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal, but according to latest reports, FC Barcelona are looking to hijack the deal.
