Good news for United as star defender back in training after long term injury

Manchester United are one of the teams that have been hit severely with a number of injuries all over the season.

The first of those was a horrific one for young defender Luke Shaw in a Champions League group game against PSV Eindhoven.

But finally, the club has some good news as the 20-year old defender is back in training for the squad as reported earlier today.

Luke Shaw who suffered a leg break in the clash against PSV in September as Spanish player Hector Moreno plunged into an ugly challenge for which he even escaped a card.

Ever since, has not featured for the club and has now stepped up his recovery and resumed light training at the club’s Carrington training base on Monday.

This news was uploaded on a social site by fellow team mate Juan Mata who shared a picture along with the 20-year old.

However, Shaw will still not be a part of England’s EURO16 squad as Louis van Gaal has already revealed that he will play no further part in the current Premier League season.

In the time for his recovery, he had to undergo two operations on the leg and will be happy to be back at Carrington after a lengthy lay-off.

The United manager also confirmed the news and explained that Shaw was out on the field for the first time since he picked up that season ending injury.

“It was always in the gym, on the treadmill, in the swimming pool and so on, but now he can train for the first time with his bodyweight on the pitch, so it is going great for Luke Shaw,” LVG said.

However, he also revealed that he has no chance of making it even for the last game in United’s calendar.

“But also it shall be very difficult for him to play the final of the FA Cup,” he added.

And the lack of any football in the domestic season will give him no chance of a place in the EURO16 squad for England.

The manager of the national tea, Roy Hodgson has always backed up the defender and has mentioned more than once that the doors will always be open for him but with the final squad to be named in just a month’s time, a trip to France is now beyond the 20-year old.

However, he will hope that he can sizzle in the next season after getting back to full fitness along with a proper pre-season.
